Walgreens Q+A: $x/xx coupon

Charlene wrote, regarding the new $5/20 Walgreens coupon:

Now the total has to be over $20 before the coupon and I was wondering if you know if the formula checks count as a coupon? I thought I'd get a can of formula $20-$3/1 MQ and probably the Bic razors with the mail in rebate to hit the $20 mark. Then I can use the formula check as a form of payment right?

Charlene,

While I haven't used formula checks myself, others have done it and said that, yes, they count as payment, not as a coupon. Do any of you readers have experience to add?

They are a check and therefore must be given after all coupons (including RR), so they shouldn't affect the $5 off.

They do not count as coupons. You pay with the check AFTER you have given the coupon. I work for Walgreens.

Sienna is correct. The order should be thus (I advocate breaking the pile into smaller sections and handing them over one at a time):

- $5/$20 Q
- MF Qs
- Wag's Qs
- RRs
- Formula Checks
- Cash for any OOP

Just for reference, the front will say it is a coupon but retailer submit like a check (I don't understand this either). I had trouble at Kroger one night b/c I was trying to use the formula "check" and a formula coupon. They finally let me use both but not until I whined about it for like 5 minutes. So I would have a back-up plan just in case. Anyone ever had trouble like this before?
