Walgreens: Friday and Saturday deals

The May EasySaver period begins on Friday, April 25 (tomorrow), but the April EasySaver period lasts through Saturday, April 26. There are some deals to be had--the Softsoap one stands out to me. If your store doesn't have the May booklets available yet, you can print the coupons from the May EasySaver booklet available here.

Your mileage may vary on this deal, depending on whether your cashier allows you to use both IVCs. The IVCs do have different coupon codes and should therefore go through if the cashier will scan them.
12 oz. Softsoap handsoap: Regular price $3.99; use $2 April IVC and $2 May IVC. Mail in for rebate #13: $10 back when you buy $20 of product. Here's the math:

3.99
x 6
23.94
-12.00 (April IVC)
11.94
-12.00 (May IVC)
(0.06)
-10.00 (April rebate)
(10.06) overage

Twizzlers/movie tickets: Buy 15 bags Twizzlers (with movie ticket points), use the $1/4 April IVC (reportedly works as long as you have four or more bags) and send in for $5 WYB $15 May EasySaver rebate. Then mail the movie points in for three movie tickets from this Hershey's movie ticket deal. It comes out to $6.25 for 15 bags Twizzlers and three movie tickets.

Edit: Here's the math on the Twizzlers deal:

1.00
x 15
15.00
-3.75 (April IVC for $1/4)
11.25
-5.00 (May EasySaver rebate)
6.25

Then mail your movie points in to get movie tickets.

Would you be able to post the math on the twizzlers? Are you using 3 of the $1/4 coupons? I'm not coming up with the same amount and am new to all of this.

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up on the SoftSoap deal .. there are Manufacture coupons out there too .. $1 off 3 and $.35 off 1 (I think from 3/30 .. they expire 4/26) to make the deal even sweeter.

Do you have any idea if you can send in all 45 movie points at the same time? The rebate offer says "send at least 15" and you can send in 4 admissions per household. Do you think it would work if you sent them in together to save stamps?

Can you tell me what IVC stands for? Newbie here. :)

Brianna,

I'll plan to edit my original post to add the calculations.

Rebekah,

Thanks for the heads-up on the coupons!

Stephanie,

I can't say for sure, but I don't see any problem with sending them all together.

Erin,

IVC stands for Instant Value Coupon, a coupon from the Walgreens EasySaver booklet. You might also be interested in checking out our frugality glossary of terms.

Thanks!! But how are you getting -$3.75? If you use 3 $1/4 coupons that would be a discount of $3. You can't use 4 coupons unless you buy 16 twizzlers right?

Sorry for being a pain!! I appreciate all that you do so greatly!!

Nevermind on my softsoap comment. I found out via another site that the IVC coupons say that they are limited to 1 item per coupon but they don't ring up that way I guess. Therefore, you take the 2 IVC coupons and they should deduct $12 each automatically. I will find out today anyway!!

Brianna,

You're not a pain. :-) Someone who has used the coupon reported that the coupon took .25 off for each of her Twizzlers, even though she didn't have a multiple of 4. Just make sure that you have *at least* four. You'll only need to have them scan the EasySaver coupon once (not three or four times) for all of the Twizzlers.

Has anyone tried the Softsoap deal? Let us know if it works!

thank you so much for the softsoap deal! It worked! The beauty advisor almost didn't scan it and when I politely asked her just to try it, she was so confused, but happy that I got the deal. So they paid me to take their soap! And I realized there isn't a limit, so I think I might try doing it again! Thank you so so much!

if you have done the softsoap deal - do you have to buy the same number of products as you are using coupons, or do these IVC work differently then mc? thanks.

so i did the twizzler thing today, and while the cashier looked at me like i was nuts, i ended up buying 20 bags of twizzlers and using 5 of the coupons, totaling $15.40. i'm going to get the $5 rebate, making it down to $10.40, and 4 movie tickets

plus, now i have pounds upon pounds of twizzlers to eat at the movies:)

Anonymous,

With IVCs you only need one coupon and it will automatically deduct from each item.

Whoot whoot- the softsoap deal worked for me no problem.... No Aveeno though- both stores have been sold out all week of the little lotions... Someone else near me must have figured out this deal...
